The Short Story:
Daina Penn: With 21 years experience in Graphic Design and Marketing, my goal is to promote our owners and their investments to
Summit County vacationers. I’ve lived in Colorado most of my life and enjoy seeing the Rocky Mountains every day I step out my back door. As a first time condo owner, I have enjoyed developing the Legend of Pennies Run for our guests and love hearing how much fun our guests have had finding and hiding pennies in our condo. My desire is to always give our guests a vacation experience that keeps them coming back. I look forward to working with our new owners and guests at
Take a Peak Lodging. We
will manage your property like our own, and are very excited to get started!
Jamie Penn: With 19 years experience in Customer Service in the travel industry, I bring the other side of our business to life – real one-on-one customer service. I also have a real knack for interior decorating and design. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing a cabin feel to our condo and look forward to doing the same for our owners. I’ve spent a lot of time in
Summit County skiing and shopping. If you’re new to the area and need some advice on where to ski, eat or shop, I’m your contact! I look forward to speaking with our new owners and guests in years to come. We
will manage your property like our own, and will make sure that your guests will have a
Keystone vacation that is relaxing and fun.
The Long Story: How it all Began…

On November 24, 2004 our Dad, William Penn (Bill for Short), suddenly passed away at the young age of 66. His dream was to some day own a cabin in the woods and be able to spend his vacation time enjoying the outdoors. He loved the mountains, loved to fish and basically just spending quality time enjoying his vacations. He left behind 3 children and 3 grandchildren – all of us miss him very much.
Jamie and I decided we wanted to do something to honor the memory of our Dad, so we began looking for log cabins. After hours spent looking at different size cabins, Jamie suggested that we try looking for a mountain vacation condo that we could rent out as a vacation rental. It made great sense to us because it would mean an investment with possible profit involved. Can’t beat that! We started in Summit County and landed in
Keystone at River Run Village where we purchased our first condo at Expedition Station. We wanted our condo to be special and provide our guests with a memorable experience staying with us. We set out to make our condo the cabin our Dad never had.
In September 2005, Pennies Run was born. Our studio condo became the home of W.P. Moose, an over-excited moose vacationer who came to Keystone to enjoy all the fun activities available. Legend has it, he went to the top of Keystone Mountain and on his way down he took a tumble loosing all of his pennies, all of which landed in Pennies Run. Our guests are challenged to find the pennies when they stay at our condo.
We also decided to make our condo have the feel of a mountain cabin. We painted, decorated and added new furniture. Our goal is to give our guests the feel of a mountain home with the amenities of their own home. We fully stock our condo with everything you need, except food and drink, so that you can relax and enjoy your stay with us. It’s not the log cabin our Dad dreamed of but we feel it’s the next best thing.
So, since the day that we purchased our condo, we have had improving and continuous success. With my 21 years experience in marketing and graphic design and Jamie’s 19 years experience in customer service in the travel industry, we feel we have created an experience that keep our guests coming back. Our desire now is to share that information to other condo owners and help them create a positive experience for their guests.
Take a Peak Lodging, LLC was formed out of that desire. Our goal is actually two-fold: First, we want to use our experience and knowledge to help condo owners be successful with their investments. Second, we want to be able to guarantee that when guests book with
Take a Peak Lodging, they will have the best vacation experience possible. We understand that their comfort and satisfaction are key to your success, so we strive to make their time with
Take a Peak Lodging a memorable one. Thank you for considering
Take a Peak Lodging in managing your vacation rental and providing all your
Keystone vacation needs. We look forward to serving you now and in the future. May all your stays in the Keystone area be memorable.
